Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what ArborPrep (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have. ArborPrep is an independent ISA Certified Arborist exam-prep service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the International Society of Arboriculture.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Study data: your quiz answers, flashcard progress, and readiness scores, so we can show your progress.
• Billing data: if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We store your plan status and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers — we do not store your full card number.
• Operational logs: standard request logs used to keep the service running and secure.
• Usage analytics: cookieless page and event analytics via Umami, which we host ourselves — this data is not shared with any third-party analytics vendor.
• Session recordings: we record how you move through the product — clicks, scrolling and navigation — so we can find and fix the confusing parts. Recordings mask every form input: passwords, email addresses and anything else you type into a field are never captured. Recordings are stored on our own infrastructure and deleted after 30 days. We respect Do Not Track — switch it on in your browser and we record nothing at all.

How we use it

To provide and improve the product: authenticate you, track your study progress, send transactional email (welcome and sign-in links), process subscriptions, and generate AI tutor explanations. We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers that run the service: Cloudflare (hosting, database, email delivery), Stripe (payments), and OpenRouter (AI tutor explanations). Each processes data only to provide their part of the service.

Data retention & your choices

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request access to, export of, or deletion of your account data by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your personal study and account records, subject to records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.
